Bio

Hello! My name is Michelle, and this is the kikou (紀行, traveler's journal) of my stay in Japan, from January 7 to April 21, 2008. I'm 21 years old and I've been studying Japanese for two and a half years, but this is my first visit to the country.

My purpose for this journal is both to provide myself (and friends and family) with a record of my stay and to offer some reading material to others planning a stay abroad in Japan.

A note on my user name: I chose "michimichiru" (満ち満ちる) both for its similarity to my own name, as well as its meaning of "to be full to the brim." I hope that my experiences will leave me so ^_^

Feel free to leave comments on my posts here whether or not you're a registered user on LJ (but if you aren't, please include your name, otherwise you'll just show up as "anonymous"!). I hope to include all of my adventures as a student studying abroad here, complete with pictures, but we'll see if I succeed or not.
